Summary Report and Notes from January 15, 2016
It was awesome to learn with & from you yesterday! Until I publish & share my iBook here are some things to hold you over that were generated from our mini-slam of ideas for best apps / tools / ideas, and our contact info if you're more interested in connecting. Some of you said your google drive wasn't working ... so here it is in an old fashion email, but I will put this on my websites as well under the more tabs. Thanks again to Colonial Administration for allowing us to get together as it is always an amazing day!
Jen and I started a Colonial Health and PE Voxer chat if anyone wants in - our contact info is below. Note: Not sure what to do ... ask YouTube - How do I open a Twitter account?, or Voxer account?, and "how to" videos will come up to help you, or email Jen or me!! We would love to connect in order ask more questions about your presentations, or just to share ideas! Split screen or open two tabs, one with the "how to" video and one with the tool or app you're trying to set-up. Good Luck and hope this helps!!!

8. BamVideo Delay - For those that just got the iPad this one is great for Ss to see them performing the skill https://thepegeek.com/2012/07/top-apps-for-pe-teachers-part-16/ The PE geek blog is great to follow as he is always talking about Apps to try! Some paid, some not!

12. Blogging - Used Weebly http://www.weebly.com to create my blog, and some of my students did as well. I'm not big on sharing my own work, but sharing is caring, and I do care! Please don't judge ... it's a new website and just houses some basics. http://minkahealth.weebly.com/blog
MY FAVORITES THAT I DID NOT GET TO SHARE YESTERDAY & NO ONE MENTIONED:
13. Padlet - https://padlet.com/ Examples of two Padlets we just completed.
14 - Smore - https://www.smore.com/ Students voted this their favorite two years in a row ... Here is our Schoology and Tech Nights in a Smore I made ... would love if we could get a HUGE group to come to tech night and work together to develop lessons that incorporate tech to support learning. I go all the time and love it!!! We could discuss on Voxer if you join!!! https://www.smore.com/t20c6 see the dates and sign-up!! Tech night is fun!!
15. Hudl Technique - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubersense.app.production&hl=en Android and iOS for assessment and learning
16. Quizlet - https://quizlet.com Digital Study cards and games centered around those words. Can't beat that!!!
Lastly, great finds from Twitter & Voxer were the Polar H7s bluetooth Heart Rate Monitors http://bit.ly/1QdqPfr (was able to purchase partial set - yay) and the FitStep Pro Pedometer http://bit.ly/1Soq1Wp . These are two ways to track data and assess their movement without just observing and guessing. Too bad we missed the bid list deadline and didn't get a chance to discuss these two items.
Happy Connecting and Learning ... if we want change we have to model it & in order to model it, we have to learn it. A great read for our next break is Uncommon Learning by Eric Scheninger, who transformed his school. He attributes the beginning of the transformation to Twitter.
If you got this far have a great 2016!!
